Your Cisco Desk phone will most likely be setup so that your Network connection passes through the device to your PC/laptop. If it is not setup as per the below image then you will be able to simply disconnect the 1 cable from the SW port on the back of the phone.

The port labelled PC connects the phone to the PC


To disconnect your Cisco phone

  1. unplug the Network cable on your PC/Laptop/Dock that goes from the PC port on the phone.
  2. unplug the cable in the SW port on the back of your Cisco Phone
  3. plug the cable that was in the SW port on your phone to the network port on your PC/laptop/Dock
  4. Once connected your PC/laptop should display  in the notification bar at the bottom right of your screen.


Note - When removing your Cisco Desk phone you will need to ensure that the cable plugged into the SW port on the back of the phone is on one you connect to your PC/laptop/Docking station to ensure that you get network.
