Set up your macOS folder backup
- Click on the OneDrive cloud icon in the top menu bar, then the gear icon, then Preferences
- In the window that appears, choose the "Backup" tab, then "Manage backup."
- Select Desktop and Documents (or whatever combination you wish to back up), and click "Start backup."
- You receive the following confirmation. You may click "View sync progress" or close the window at your discretion.
Access your backed up folders on any device
When your files finish syncing to Onedrive, Your files will have been backed-up and you can access them from anywhere in Documents or Desktop. When you backup your Desktop folder, the items on your desktop roam with you to your other desktops where you are using OneDrive.
