Windows 11 features a refreshed desktop appearance:


The appearance of Windows Search and desktop icons has been updated! This guide will help you customise and navigate the new interface (The new Start menu)


When you initially upgrade to Windows 11, One of the key changes in Windows 11 is the Start menu which is now located just above the bottom centre of the screen. 


Personalisation Desktop and Task Tray Behaviour:


To Personalise this for a more traditional Windows 10 appearance, as above.


1: Right Click in the Task Tray


2: Select Taskbar settings, and navigate to Taskbar behaviours.


3: Click the dropdown arrow to reveal the Taskbar behaviour options, by default the taskbar is aligned to the Centre, select Left, to give yours Windows a more traditional feel. That's it

From the Start menu, you’ll notice multiple rows of small application icons.

Windows 11 lets you organise app icons on the Start menu by dragging and dropping them to new locations. 


When you right-click a tile, a menu appears with options like Move to top, Unpin from Start, Open file location, and Pin or remove apps from the Taskbar.


Manage how you lock, restart and shutdown your device from the Start menu, by selecting the (Power icon) at the bottom left.


From there, you can, lock your PC, sign out of or shutdown.

Using Windows 11 Search:


Windows 11 search has a minor changes. 


To perform a search, click the search button (a magnifying glass) on the taskbar and start typing your query. A rectangular pane with a search box at the top will appear.


When you first open the Search box, it displays three sections:

1: Recommended for you: A row of icons for your frequently used applications and apps.

2: Recent files.

3: Recent apps.


Multiple Desktops in Windows 11


Quickly view your desktop in Windows 11, use the Show Desktop button to get an overview of your open and active windows.
